As clinicians, we see an increasing number of patients with dental implants. Our care process must include a close inspection of the peri-implant soft and hard tissue to accurately determine dental implant health and any potential risks to long-term success.
This course will review common risk factors that lead to peri-implant soft and hard tissue differences. Surgical and non-surgical case studies will be examined to aid the dental professional in understanding the available treatment modalities and how to predict their success.
Educational Objectives:
Identify factors that increase the risk for tissue deficiencies around dental implants.
Review non-surgical and standard surgical techniques for tissue repair/regeneration
Determine when intervention is indicated and where non-surgical techniques may be most successful.
Discuss implant success versus survival and ‘reasonable’ health.
